The Labourer will perform work both indoors and outdoors throughout all Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) grounds and facilities.  The Labourer is responsible for performing general duties including, but not limited to: moving, setting-up and tearing down of equipment for various events, building event conversions, material maintenance and snow removal. This position supports the unit in an efficient and safe manner to meet conversions and event schedules. This position is a manual labour position that requires physically strenuous duties and is a very demanding job.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

1. Perform various interior duties which includes, but is not limited to the following: 

  • Install/removal, setting up, arranging and removing decorations, tables, chairs, and ladders and scaffolding to prepare facilities for the various scheduled events.
  • Setting up of tables, chairs, staging, pipe and drape.
  • Various asset repairs and maintenance i.e. tables, chairs, field cover, turf, etc.
  • Various office equipment moves i.e. desks, cabinets, etc.

2. Perform various exterior duties, which includes but is not limited to the following: 

  • Removing snow from sidewalks, driveways and parking areas using snow blowers, snow shovels, and snow melting chemicals.
  • Sweeping debris and shovel snow from streets and sidewalks.
  • Setup various outdoor events including barricade/security fencing, field protection cover outdoors.
  • Campus greenspace and landscaping maintenance 

3. Observing additional maintenance needs requiring attention and reporting as required, organizing/recording all work detail (work performed, service recommendations, etc.).

4. Responsible for equipment while on shift.

5. Presenting services in a professional, respectful, and positive manner at all times when interacting with internal and external customers.

6. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Custodial Supervisor (1 Permanent Full Time Position)

As the Custodial Supervisor, you are responsible for overseeing and directing the work product of other team Leads & Custodians. This will include assigning and directing work, carrying out visual inspections and formal audits of cleaned spaces, addressing complaints and recommending solutions, and reporting any disciplinary concerns to the Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Monitor and maintain work schedules and ensuring that employees complete work assignments in a timely manner.
  • Perform visual inspections and formal audits of cleaned spaces.
  • Maintain all product inventories, requisitions of cleaning supplies as well as a record of all stock.
  • Address complaints and recommends solutions; report any disciplinary concerns to Manager.
  • Participates in ongoing training of Leads and Custodians.
  • Ensures pre and post use checklists are being completed by all powered equipment operators.
  • Completes daily Supervisor Communication Sheet at the end of every shift to inform next shift of important updates and information. Reviews the Supervisor Communication Sheet at the start of every shift to stay informed of all updates and information
  • Maintains the interior and exterior of the buildings and their surrounding ground; Keeps buildings and grounds in clean and orderly condition.

WHAT IT TAKES

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide administrative support to the team as needed and directed.
  • Maintaining office files in addition to maintaining supply, staff and boardroom supply and condition.
  • Assist with the coordination of events and meetings hosted by the office.
  • Assisting with the administrative portions of any corporate goals and key performance indicators of the office support team, as well as the administration metrics for the team deliverables.

Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology the IT Support Professional provides front-line support on all desktop, laptop, notebook, printer and network devices to our internal and external customers. The IT Support Professional is responsible to ensure that an effective solution is provided to the user by identifying, analyzing and diagnosing specific problems for a variety of technologies and application platforms, and resolving tier 1 and tier 2 related issues. The IT Support Professional will use an incident management system to record, track and capture the resolution for all IT requests. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  1. Provide front-line support on all desktop, laptop, notebook, printer and network devices by;
    • Effectively, professionally, and respectfully representing the Information Technology team.
    • Providing support includes answering questions, troubleshooting problems, teaching or instructing customers regarding basic software or hardware functionality, and communicating policy. Additionally, it may involve troubleshooting printer issues and resolving difficulties with technology.
    • Providing first level system administration functions (e.g., maintains all network accounts, passwords, and appropriate security access for staff. This includes creating new user accounts, reviewing and disabling accounts, and changing authorizations/passwords as required).
    • Communicating with clients (users) regarding systems availability/outages, procedural changes, change management concerns, hardware/software related updates and upgrades.
    • Recording and refers service requests for new hardware/software, and/or enhanced technology requests.
    • Monitoring and meeting service standards as identified by the Manager, Information Technology including areas such as response time, performance measurements, hours of operation, etc.
    • Writing and updating user guides and procedure manuals.
    • Remaining current on changes and new developments and techniques that will affect and/or improve performance in position.
    • Ensuring unit management staff are kept informed of high priority and high-profile issues.
    • Testing new products and participates in pilot projects.
    • Participating on project teams or representing the unit as directed by the Manager, Information Technology.
  2. Assist customers who are experiencing any procedural or operating difficulty with the use of IT applications, products or services by: 
  • Providing support for all information technology products and services. This includes the following technologies:
    • Microsoft Exchange Server 2010
    • Microsoft Active Directory
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • Sage accounting software
    • EventPro event management software
    • Various cell phone models for both voice and data
    • Other technologies as determined by the Manager, Information Technology

3. Receiving telephone, e-mail, written and/or in-person requests for assistance from users, and documenting those requests in our support ticketing system.

4. Identifying, analyzes and diagnoses specific problems for a variety of technologies and application platforms. Determines the most effective manner to resolve customer's technical issue. 

5. Engaging in research and in-depth troubleshooting to resolve technical issues and resolves Level 1 and Level 2 work orders. Elevates complex and/or high priority problems to the appropriate support groups for resolution and consults with the Manager, Information Technology.

6. Handling confidential information in an appropriate manner. Customer interactions must be handled with diplomacy and tact. This position must be able to gauge the customer's technical ability and communicate with them in appropriate technical or non-technical language in a non-condescending manner.

7. Recording the required customer and problem information in our in-house incident management system. Updates system with appropriate journal entries of activities and closes work orders with resolution entered upon completion of the job.

8. Verifying that suggested solutions effectively resolve the users' problems through verbal or email follow up.

Performs other duties on an as and when required basis.

As the Operator, you will primarily be responsible for all activities in relation to using and operating a forklift in our facilities. Additionally, the Operator will provide support for the overall maintenance of REAL facilities which includes snow removal, road and lot sanding, floor care and soccer turf maintenance, and street sweeping.  Operators will perform their work tasks both indoors and outdoors throughout the grounds and various facilities.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  1. Operate the forklift for a variety of activities needed on site.
  2. Provide support for the overall maintenance of all REAL facilities including snow removal, road and lot sanding, floor care, turf maintenance, and street sweeping.
  3. Provide support in maintaining all sidewalks, roadways, and parking lots.
  4. Performs emergency repairs to ensure the property is safe for guests, customers, and employees.
  5. Delivers on customer needs by providing support for loading and unloading for events and the setup of events and conversions.

3. Responds to incidents by:

  • Responds to incidents, and manages CSSS response to emergency situations, criminal activity, and other major events.  Makes immediate and appropriate decisions in order to prevent or minimize personal injury and/or damage to personal and public property.
  • Acts as an on-scene Incident Commander for all emergencies, demonstrations, large protests, and events on campus, working in a unified command capacity with local police, fire, and emergency health services agencies. Provides information and recommendations to the Command Centre.
  • Mitigates risk to the campus in an effort to ensure life safety and operational continuity.  Notifies the Command Centre for activation of the first responders in the event of an emergency.
  • Notifying Command Centre of all incidents.
  • Maintaining detailed reporting on all events and proper incident reporting

4. Performs patrolling of areas and security checks by:

  • Securing premises and personnel by patrolling property; access points; permitting entry.
  • Obtaining help by sounding alarms.
  • Preventing losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
  • Maintaining environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
  • Maintaining organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
  • Ensuring operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Controlling access to buildings and protecting employees, guests and the public

5. Providing excellent customer service to guests, employees, and the public by offering assistance where needed, finding balance and neutralizing high stress situations.
