Payroll Administrator (Permanent Fulltime)

As the Payroll Administrator, you will serve as the first point of contact for all REAL staff (in scope and out of scope) to provide information, answer payroll and benefit inquiries and resolve automated time and attendance and payroll issues.  While you are in this role, you will be responsible for preparing and processing biweekly payroll for unionized hourly employees and out of scope salaried employees. You will be required to maintain strict confidentiality while ensuring payments are made in accordance with legislation, union agreements and policies.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Deliver, support, and maintain established compensation and benefit programs, policies, and services.
  • Support the People Services department by monitoring and reporting of key performance metrics related to employee time and attendance, pay and benefits.
  • Manage employee enrollment and deductions for benefit plans.
  • Preparing third party payroll remittances; generating, reviewing, and reconciling payroll reports.
  • Maintaining staffing information and files (both electronic and hard copy)
  • Maintaining sound and transparent processes for auditing purposes; identifying efficiencies and record processes and procedures.
  • Supports delivery of employee experience activities.
  • Performing other duties as allocated.

  • Canadian Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is required.
  • Minimum post-secondary payroll and computer courses (automated payroll, and time & attendance systems) along with completed secondary school diploma.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a computerized payroll environment.
  • Experience with Kronos time management systems is preferred.

The Labourer will perform work both indoors and outdoors throughout all Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) grounds and facilities.  The Labourer is responsible for performing general duties including, but not limited to: moving, setting-up and tearing down of equipment for various events, building event conversions, material maintenance and snow removal. This position supports the unit in an efficient and safe manner to meet conversions and event schedules. This position is a manual labour position that requires physically strenuous duties and is a very demanding job.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Perform various interior duties which includes, but is not limited to the following:
    • Install/removal, setting up, arranging and removing decorations, tables, chairs, and ladders and scaffolding to prepare facilities for the various scheduled events.
    • Setting up of tables, chairs, staging, pipe and drape.
    • Various asset repairs and maintenance i.e. tables, chairs, field cover, turf, etc.
    • Various office equipment moves i.e. desks, cabinets, etc.
  • Perform various exterior duties, which includes but is not limited to the following:
    • Removing snow from sidewalks, driveways and parking areas using snow blowers, snow shovels, and snow melting chemicals.
    • Sweeping debris and shovel snow from streets and sidewalks.
    • Setup various outdoor events including barricade/security fencing, field protection cover outdoors.
    • Campus greenspace and landscaping maintenance
  • Observing additional maintenance needs requiring attention and reporting as required, organizing/recording all work detail (work performed, service recommendations, etc.).
  • Responsible for equipment while on shift.
  • Presenting services in a professional, respectful, and positive manner at all times when interacting with internal and external customers.

Equipment Operator (Casual)

Be a part of the action in helping to create the magic of events and entertainment for the community!  This includes event set up and tear down in addition to daily grounds maintenance to bring everything to life.  We are looking for individuals to join our team on a casual basis to help us provide amazing entertainment as our business ebbs and flows.  Casual staff can be scheduled a combination of days evenings and weekends depending on the needs of the business.  This is a great opportunity to earn some extra cash flow where you dictate your own availability.

Reporting to the Manager, Grounds and Conversions, the Operator is responsible for working both indoors and outdoors throughout the grounds and various facilities.  Responsibilities include operating various machinery and equipment (i.e. Forklift, front end loader, unit-loader, dump truck, skid steer, scissor lift, street sweeper, ride on sweeper/scrubber) to move materials around various locations on grounds safely and efficiently.  In addition to operating equipment, this position assist with any additional labour needed to complete assigned duties.

  • Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.

Reporting to the Manager, Program Operations, the Surface Operator is responsible for operating machinery on a daily basis to ensure that the playing surfaces meet or exceed a high standard for all user groups (e.g. guests, customers and the public).  The Surface Operator supports the recreational facilities by ensuring that all facility areas are clean, healthy and are considered safe environments for all.  Other functions include the cleaning and maintenance of the playing surface, assisting with the sports Facility, and the set-up and take down for public and private functions.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Conduct thorough and proper surface install and maintenance through proper inspections and safe utilization of equipment.
  • Maintaining arena facility cleanliness and safety.
  • Setting up and taking down event set ups as per the service order.
  • Assisting in general repairs and maintenance of sports surfaces, facilities, and equipment.
  • Assisting other trades and engineers of plumbing and heating systems.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Account Executive, Event Sales

Reporting to the Manager, Business Trade and Consumer Event Sales the Account Executive, Corporate and Social Events is responsible to generate revenue for Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL)by planning, leading and implementing all sales aspects of corporate/social events and trade/consumer shows.  The Account Executive will be responsible for maintaining and increasing the current level of event space and catering rentals throughout the various properties of REAL.  New business development is a priority.  Responsibilities include providing outstanding customer service and organizing memorable events that exceed quality expectations.

  • Participate in the development of business plans in conjunction with the Manager to achieve long and short-term goals by:
    • Contributing to the development, implementation, and monitoring of departmental KPIs
    • Ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to
    • Collaborating with peers and internal client groups to ensure timely and seamless execution
    • Identifying and documenting lessons learned to capitalize on missed opportunities

    • Exhibiting behaviours that align with the organization culture
    • Ensuring events run smoothly for clients and addressing problems when they occur

Brand Storyteller

The Brand Storyteller is a savvy content marketer who understands digital communications channels and how to grow, engage and influence audiences. An experienced storyteller who can develop compelling content across a variety of channels to build a strong community around our brand. This can be done through setting up and conducting interviews with various stakeholders, shooting and editing video, writing stories and blogs, etc., and coming up with fresh and unique social media strategies.

This position will be the trusted face of our property; that demonstrates passion about what we do and actively influences and engages the community to share all of the things that make REAL a great place to work, play and visit.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Participates in the development and implementation of content marketing plans to achieve the corporation’s short and long-term goals by completing tasks including but not limited to; 
    • Developing the content plan and corresponding metrics
    • Bringing forward matters that affect the REAL brand for dialogue and decision.
    • Monitoring and analyzing digital media and content trends to capitalize on opportunities and make recommendations for change if needed.
    • Assists in the content collection, interviewing, coordinating and writing of advertising copy, articles, and features for internal communications.
    • Assists in drafting and coordinating regular updates to web content.
    • Assists with content lifecycle management for all content sources.
    • Supports media relations activities
    • Maintains writing style guidelines and standards
    • Staying abreast of current developments & trends in all relevant industry / technical / professional knowledge areas
    • Attends REAL events, both during office hours and after, to monitor and respond to social media activity during events to post updates and answer customer questions.
  • Develop compelling content across a variety of channels to build a strong community around our brand by;
    • Collaborating with Event, Show, Facility and Entertainment Managers to understand their specific needs and objectives
    • Creating and managing digital content and ensures content is optimized for search and user experience.
    • Ensures content supports the brand and is accurate.
    • Manages online campaigns and contests
    • Analyzes metrics, measures against benchmarks, monitors trends, and provides ongoing feedback to evolve the digital media strategy.
    • Maintains consistency of content.
    • Monitors social media activity and ensures a timely and appropriate response.
    • Provides guidance to determine how to market REAL events through website & digital marketing to enhance communications. Works with the Graphic Designer to coordinate marketing commitments.
    • Communicates and liaises with advance ticket suppliers/outlets concerning event/ticket promotion and delivery.
    • Lead presentations to internal stakeholders.
  • Leads the development of the REAL annual reports by collaborating with different departments and handling confidential information with discretion with media relations by coordinating and conducting interviews.
    • Assists in the development of the Marketing Communication budget, quarterly forecasts and implements and monitors the appropriate expenditure controls to manage costs.

  • Post-secondary degree in journalism or proven experience in a similar role with education background in film, communications, public relations or marketing.
  • At least two years’ experience in a content creation role (e.g. shooting and editing video, writing blogs, taking photos and developing photo essays, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Premier, Adobe Afterworks)

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to maintain a respectable public image and conduct, interacting with customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is preferred.
  • The successful candidate must also possess and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check (CRC).

Custodian

Status: Full-time, permanent      Vacancies: 2

As a custodian, you will have the responsibility of maintaining the cleanliness of all facilities at REAL.  You will support all facilities by ensuring they are cleaned by REAL’s standards to provide a healthy and safe environment for all guests. This role will be required to follow cleaning processes and procedures outlined for each area or facility. 

We are looking for 2 permanent full-time Custodians to join our Custodial team. You will be guaranteed 40 hours per week, working a targeted shift of 4:30pm to 12:30am.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Maintain the interior and exterior of the buildings and their surrounding grounds.
  • Keeps buildings and grounds in clean and orderly condition.
  • Performs heavy cleaning duties including, but not limited to cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.
  • Ensures janitorial rooms are clean and stocked at the end of each shift
  • Performs other duties on an as and when required basis.
