Celebrating Ag Week in Saskatchewan
The Government of Saskatchewan has officially proclaimed this week as Ag Week, and the theme is #CelebrateAg — a fitting tribute to the people and communities who keep our tables full and our province thriving.
With harvest wrapping up and Thanksgiving weekend around the corner, there’s no better time to recognize the incredible effort of Saskatchewan’s farmers, producers, and ag innovators. They’re the heart of our province and the reason we can all give thanks for the food that nourishes us.
In 2023, Saskatchewan’s agricultural exports soared to a record-breaking $20.2 billion, accounting for about 40% of the province’s total exports. Agriculture isn’t just big business here—it’s the backbone of the province. Saskatchewan is home to nearly 40% of Canada’s total farm area and more than 41% of the nation’s cropland, solidifying its role as a powerhouse in Canadian agriculture.
Specialty crops are where Saskatchewan truly shines. The province produces 82% of Canada’s canary seed exports and leads the nation in mustard seed exports, feeding markets around the world and cementing its reputation as a global agricultural leader.
Canada’s Farm Show Regina, SK: Innovation, Collaboration, and Education
For over 40 years, Canada’s Farm Show (CFS) Regina, SK, presented by Bunge, has been a cornerstone of Canada’s agricultural industry. What started as a local farm exhibition has grown into one of North America’s premier ag events, attracting thousands of producers, innovators, and ag leaders every March to the REAL District in Regina, Saskatchewan.
CFS is built on three strong pillars — Innovation, Collaboration, and Education:
- Innovation: Showcasing the latest technologies shaping the future of agriculture — from precision equipment to sustainable farming solutions.
- Collaboration: Bringing together industry leaders, growers, and researchers to share insights that move agriculture forward — not just in Saskatchewan, but across the globe.
- Education: Creating opportunities for lifelong learning through workshops, speakers, and youth programs that inspire the next generation of agricultural professionals.
Every year, Canada’s Farm Show reminds us that agriculture isn’t just an industry — it’s a community built on resilience, creativity, and shared purpose.
Gratitude for Those Who Feed the World
As families and communities come together this Thanksgiving weekend, take a moment to celebrate and thank those who make it all possible — the producers, farmers, and ag professionals who work tirelessly to feed Saskatchewan, Canada, and the world.
Whether you’re visiting Canada’s Farm Show Regina March 17 to 19, 2026, sharing stories from your own operation, or simply enjoying a local harvest meal, you’re part of a proud and enduring agricultural legacy.
